Almost time ...

Looking over my blog posts it seems I've been pretty busy ... in the office that is.  My lack of blog posts or Twitter activity has been to due the fact that my time has been very focused on preparing for the 13th Annual meeting for IAMSE.  It was 2 years ago this past June that the idea was truly discussed for an European meeting for the association.  While they have met in Mexico, this is a huge step! 

Our ... OK "MY" expectations for attendance have been surpassed and I am very pleased.  Others had doubt anyone would come and then there were those who thought the number would be much higher.   It's nice to know my numbers were good.  Now to see if that holds true for the budget? 

Just a couple more days in the office to finish up loose ends before my flight on Sunday morning.  My arrival in Leiden on Monday will be greeted by immediate meetings and appointments.  I had better sleep on the plane.   I will be staying in a small apartment, which will be an experience all unto itself.  A taste of a life I have never had.

To make this adventure even more fun, I will be spending a great deal of my 3 weeks in The Netherlands preparing for a meeting to be held upon my return in Cleveland.  No rest for the wicked I guess!

This is not my first trip to the Netherlands, nor will it be my last ... I do think it may turn out to be the most memorable.
